You’ve been hearing the word GOMR floating through your running groups.
You remember seeing GOMR as a winner of Best of the Blue Ridge in Blue Ridge Outdoors Magazine, but forgot to check it out.
You’ve been asked to Hard Commit to a GOMR team, but you’d like to know more about it.
Well, now’s your chance!
Come get a free preview of GOMR.
Get to know what GOMR is all about and get a preview of the awesome route. Come up to beautiful Alleghany County on April 6th and learn about GOMR, tour GOMR Village, and get treated like a Gomer by getting shuttled out to Exchange 17/35 and running Leg 18/36 back to GOMR Village (5.65 miles).
Whether you’re a GOMR Veteran or have never run with us, come on up. Bring some friends and enjoy a beautiful Spring day in the mountains.
Thinking about doing the GOMR Ruck? Bring your pack and get a feel for hills.
8:30am – Meet at GOMR Village (122 Glade Valley Church Road, Glade Valley, NC 28627) for a tour of campus and talk.
9:00am – We’ll shuttle out to Exchange 17 (Grace Community Church), warm up, and take off to run Leg 18/36 back to GOMR Village (map). It is a 5.65 mile run. We will have the route marked at each turn.
*We ask that everyone download the RunGo App and look for the group Get Outside Mountain Relay. Then find Legs 18/36 and like it (heart up in the right corner). This app works (supposedly) even if you don’t have cell service. I’d certainly like some AT&T customers to do this so we can test the app up here.
10:30am – Once back at GOMR Village, we’ll be available for any questions, as well have a computer for registration. We will provide breakfast, bagels, fruit, biscuits, OJ, and water.
11:00am – End of preview. We’ll wait for all runners and ruckers to return and be available for any questions. Head home, or explore Sparta and Alleghany.
